Our competition teams continue to be a great asset to our school. Functioning as a performance group and competition team, our dedicated dancers learn self discipline, time management, the spirit of teamwork and important life lessons along the way. In addition to dance, they build a positive self image they take with them in their individual pursuit of their goals and dreams.

Our talented and dedicated staff works diligently to provide our students with a great technical foundation. Our competitive level dancers have the privilege of working with some of the best teachers in the country and are exposed to the most cutting edge teaching styles and awe-inspiring choreography. They also benefit from these renowned educators at Master Classes taught at DKDS to further hone their skills.  The results are evident as our teams continue to excel at all levels in competition after competition.

Our bright and talented students have gone on to study at the best dance programs in the country including Walnut Hill School, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey, Paul Taylor, Joffrey Ballet as well as universities such as Marymount Manhattan, Point Park, Loyola Marymount, NYU and many others and many have continued on to teach and choreograph throughout the country. Our non-dance majors have been accepted into prestigious schools such as Boston College, Georgetown, Syracuse and many more. Through our competitive dance program, our students excel at both artistic and academic endeavors. They are developing young artists and leaders and we're proud of each and every one of them.
